What happened to the drama subreddit?

It was there and now its private for weeks. I heard they had some scolding from the admins, but what exactly happened?

While not banned or quarantined, /r/Drama has been significantly restricted. It already had to ban user pings and slurs, and has now been forced to ban all links to Reddit, including archive links, and even merely mentioning subreddits, which was the vast vast majority of the sub.
