Not necessarily. In my experience, everything is political period to leftists, therefore their every move, thought, and decision must further their "just" cause in some way. It's an amazing tool for verbally bullying dissidents into submission.
A lot of lefties will characterise their own politics as "human rights" as a tactical thing. Arguing against "human rights" is harder than arguing against politics, even if you're arguing that "trans people have a human right to dignity" and then parlay that into "Jail time for you if you mess up the pronouns"

Well they've been saying that for years. "Leftism is reality" and all dissent with that is political or hateful.
