They've been told by every leading political, academic, journalistic, public relations, human resources, advertising, and financial expert that Social Justice is the way of the future and by virtue signaling, they will be able to future proof themselves. They are also being told that all major political establishment forces in the future will be highly progressive. There is no dissenting opinion.
This is the foundation of the Social Justice Racket.
If they reject it, the racket targets them for extermination. The racket will put infiltrators into the company (particularly in HR & PR), and those people will begin feeding off of the company from the inside out.
Before the executives or the board of directors know it, they're dealing with a hostile take-over.
Mastercard, who are pushing Social Justice as a way to become the digital currency for all of Africa, barely survived a takeover by their own HR section that was going to mandate that all hiring and compensation policies had to be approved by the HR department's diversity committee.
I challenge this notion that the leftists are winning.
I'd argue that the leftists are losing popular support at the moment, and that the establishment has been Fabian Socialists since the 1930's. They've actually been slowly loosing power over the past 80 years.
The problem that people don't quite grasp is that the progressives are not a revolution. They are pushing at an open door. The revolutionaries are effectively the right, and most normies don't even realize that they've accidentally wandered into a Velvet Revolution

Scary but true. And they seem to be winning for now. Maybe there is going to be a backlash along the way but nothing major in the next decade or so.

Or an Orange Revolution in our case, heh heh heh.
"You're not a known racist, are you?"
