We are "the west." We are what gives it culture, values, and profits. If you think otherwise you are basically believing in the magic dirt theory.
They want to destroy what we've built here. "Safety" isn't part of their strategy. Why would it be?

Why did our culture and values allow us to be taken over so easily, with zero resistance?
