The video goes over it but it seems the UK government wants to FORCE YouTube to push 'verified news outlets' like the BBC over what users might want to view based on their viewing history.

This might also be a way to justify people paying for a TV licence to watch YouTube because they're seeing the BBC on there (only because it's being force recommended to them)

It is 1984 unironically as they are desperate for narrative control since they can't suppress it anymore..
