No it isnt. ANY unelected police force is a private army not beholden to the people. Sheriffs are elected. You can remove them. They have an incentive to the will of the people.
In Texas the sheriff is often a communist mexican democrat.
Sure, and elections are manipulated and fake and gay etc, bad people get elected and all that.
The issue isnt do we need law enforcement or whatever because fuck all zog, but the difference between sheriff's and cops. Cops are installed by those in power directly. They answer to the mayor or the council. They have no accountability and no reason to care about the will of the people. The sheriff can be removed.
