Mormons founded Utah. Saying they took it over is like saying Mexico is swarming with Mexicans. This is quite literally why they fucked off out west where no one was, to do their own thing.
Utah wasn't their first choice, for what it's worth.
Yeah they're in Utah because they got run out of dodge everywhere else for little things like burning down the city newspaper and doing other cultish things.
