They have what, 1.4B of them? Indian mothers apparently are pretty decent (so the offspring survive) and reproduce fast, so...

Even if India lost half of its population overnight, it wouldn't really change anything. They'd still have 700B people, which is arguably still too much (india is big, but nott thatt big)
