No. Look at their science literature output. I remember years ago being surprised that Iranian researchers kept on popping up, and it wasn't just some small niche Iran happened to have an affinity for, I looked into it and they're miles ahead of everyone around them but for isreal, and it's not even close. We're talking isreal putting out 110 in a field, iran was putting out 70, and next was saudi on 7 or something and it was shit.
Speak with anyone who has visited too, it's not the shithole people think it is.
The worst part about Iran is the air quality, they could really use some smog regulations, it's fucking nasty.
Central Asian countries have this problem due to the lack of crosswinds.
Most of the pollution is from the gas and oil power plants, the rest is from the poor quality fuel they use for their cars and trucks, lots of contaminants that cause noxious particles and fumes.
