Given how much they've been actively trying to REMOVE parental consent to mutilating kids, we at least need that foot in the door back to then proceed to remove it completely.
It's like we'd all like to remove abortion unless medical emergency, the mother and baby might die together on the surgery table. But we need to at least restrict the time that it's allowed first to get the foot in the door to then slowly remove it.

I'm firmly against the removal of abortion as a quick and easily available medical procedure, for three reasons:
Its one of the only things keeping americanized brownoids from exploding in population. Everyone knows how bad 13/60 is, now imagine if it was 26/??. Planned parenthood has done more to ensure the survival of legacy Americans then a century of political movements has.
Its the only commonly accepted form of eugenics. Why oppose people who choose to be genetic dead ends from letting other lines proliferate? Yes, I'm sure someone will say something stupid like "but what about the fetus/baby", but that's a moot point. Personhood requires a certain level of neural complexity, and humans need years and years post-partum to reach that level. We don't consider apes or dolphins people, and they're generally more intelligent then the average three yesr old human. Since they're not people, there's no philosophical or moral argument other than "but it gives me the ick" for allowing their death.
Until men have the same rights as women do when it comes to children (family courts, child abandonment, etc.) instead of being the easy pay pigs for big daddy government and the average woman, there's no reason to restrict abortion. A loving couple who would try to be good parents aren't getting casual abortions anyway; it's the sluts and men-whores engaging in hookup culture and sleeping around.
I understand what you're saying but when and how is this supposed to be a stepping stone for banning child mutilation? When Democrats win the midterms and the next presidency because Trump decided to start Iraq war 2.0?
This isn't a step in the right direction. This is akin to saying that child mutilation is actually okay. Him saying that child mutilation is okay as long as the parents consent is like saying raping children is okay as long as the parents consent.
But this is a problem MAGA often forgets, Trump ISN'T as right wing as they'd LIKE him to be, he's more like a 90s Democrat so believes it's a matter more of consent than purely morality.
Look at the RoeVWade decision, that was about the consent of States to make rules than be dictated by the federal government. Illegal immigration, that can be argued consent as these people didn't come through the legal channels Americans consented to. Trump isn't the man to get you the FULL banning we want, but he can at least get you the powers to reject them doing this to your child.
What's keeping the next administration from simply repealing it? Obviously they could repeal a full ban too but at least he wouldn't signal that it is in some way okay.
And I'm aware that Trump isn't right-wing at all. He's a liberal. Like most so called conservatives. That's why I'm saying he's done pretending.
