He could just be of German descent, since Fischbach means roughly "Fishing hole" or "Fishing pond" in German.
german names refer to an occupation. jewish subversives renamed themselves to german words describing locations. fischbach is the latter.
Alfred Rosenberg, whose name fits your description, was not of Jewish descent.
meh. it still sounds like an activity to my ear. can't explain it, it's not random enough, still has 'roots' in a place and an accomplishement to it.

Rosenberg literally means a hill of roses. I went to the library and studied German, and can read it quite well.
