I would contest the descriptor "very upset" since in this same clip, she's able to stanch her (unobservable) tears and produce a creepy smile on command.

Her response goes from sorrow to anger to awe to appeal... all in one minute. It would be remarkable for someone to genuinely shift to all those emotions even across the span of a conversation. It's scripted.
