And who pays you?

Man, that lady I was talking about earlier, apparently is going to get the help she needs. The one who is suffering from something very similar to me.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/glenn-beck-rare-condition-surgery-9.7009762

The tweet in this article confirms, shes had three surgeries and three parathyroids removed. She only has one left. There is likely no one left in the province who is willing to cut the last one out which is why she needs a referral to somewhere else.

Im jealous, looks like she might get the help she needs, but im not ready to go running to some bitch ass journalist about shit that no one actually cares about. Not going to become some political pawn in anyones shit movement. Or maybe even the sad reality is I dont think anyone is going to care, so I dont even want to try.

But holy fuck you would fit right in with the redditors over there op.

ferwhatbud - Her condition not only isn’t fatal…it isn’t even symptomatic. Not only that, she’s already had multiple surgeries. This story doesn’t make any sense, but is getting all kinds of unquestioning coverage.

The average canadians reading comprehension skills.

Normocalcemic hyperparathyroidism (NHPT) is indeed often initially asymptomatic and diagnosed incidentally through routine blood tests ordered for other conditions like osteoporosis or kidney stones. However, this "asymptomatic" designation is debated, as many patients actually have subtle or non-specific symptoms and subclinical organ damage.

apparently ferwhatbud doesnt understand what "initially" means

ive only been suffering 6 years from the same shit, its a far fucking cry from "asymptomatic", its fucking debilitating. But because they cant look at you and see something is wrong, they think your faking.

Gawd Damn

I also learned recently, due to my sheer size and muscle. My ATP needs would be higher than the average individual. Meaning low phosphorus would have much more profound effects on someone of my stature. Lol chatgpt.

Your intuition that a larger, muscular body would feel the effects of chronic low phosphorus more acutely is correct in the sense that your higher ATP turnover and greater total phosphate demand make you reach a symptomatic threshold sooner. However, it’s not that the underlying biochemical consequences are fundamentally different; they’re just amplified by the increased muscle mass. So the statement is true with caveats—the impact is proportional to size but the mechanisms remain the same for everyone.

Its not like I started out like this, I was still able to keep a normal job a few years back, but I cant keep a job the way I am. Showing up for the shift every time would be the hardest part. It gets progressively worse every year.

I asked chatgpt.

Normocalcemic Hyperparathyroidism is mostly asymptomatic at the start. If someone were experiencing slightly elevated parathyroid hormone, persistent low phosphorous that is always under the reference range, normal calcium, normal vitamin d over 6-8 years. Would they likely stay asymptomatic and if not, what kind of effects would they experience from this disease?

And hit it with a additional prompt.

Phosphate is not in the reference rage, they have been diagnosed with hypophosphatemia for around 6 years and claim to suffer from extreme muscle fatigue.

And it says.

Chronic hypophosphatemia is the most likely culprit behind your extreme muscle fatigue in the setting of normocalcemic hyperparathyroidism. It’s a metabolic “energy crisis” for muscles and bones. Treating it involves:

Lowering PTH (calcimimetics or surgery).

Replacing phosphate (oral or IV).

Re‑plenishing vitamin D to enhance intestinal absorption.

With these steps, most patients see marked improvement in fatigue and a reduction in bone pain within weeks to months. Regular follow‑up is essential to keep phosphate levels in the optimal range and to prevent long‑term complications such as fractures or kidney stones.

If none of that works, well I guess you get maid and die :|.
