William Shockley was talking about race back in 1968, by the early 70’s there were protests whenever he tried to speak at universities, damn near riots, he stopped getting invited to speak at conferences and colleges shortly thereafter, and by the mid 70’s he was a complete pariah in the scientific community.
Watson was a much clearer case of cancelling, but it came later than Shockley. They took away his position as chancellor at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, banned him from speaking engagements, his scientific peers shit on him all over the place, even Nature magazine took shots at him saying he damaged science's credibility. Keep in mind this all happened after the American Academy of Mental Retardation (AAMR) was forced to lower the threshold for classifying mental retardation from an 85 IQ down to a 70 IQ, because at 85, over 50% of blacks would’ve been classified as mentally retarded….and that would’ve hurt agendas like forced integration, it would’ve impacted immigration, and nobody would’ve bought into the lie that systemic racism is why the black community fails in so many ways.
