Anecdotal but I had a friend I used to hang out with, always loved to explore new places, find interesting spots, read up on history etc.

He once went into one of those Scientology shop fronts promoting their 'religion', had a look at their pamphlets then after a few minutes walks out. As he walked away, he swears someone was following him for a while then suddenly stopped following him.

THAT'S why I don't fuck with them..
