They didn't want their business, they wanted to conquer the religious rights exercised by those business' owners and force them to change.
Oh yeah, that reminds me - doxing myself slightly, but when I was a teen there was a news story going round about how a semi-local restaurant was forced to change the name of its "Wop Burger", which it had had since the restaurant's founding. All because of the same people we'd later call "SJWs".
