This is another case of someone trying to provoke someone else, wanting to commit violence, and then screaming self defense. Doesn't work that way.
Now, to be clear, I don't know the context, but the guy who got stabbed was acting like an idiot too. Doesn't mean he deserved to get stabbed, doesn't mean it was self defense...but, dude, fucking walk away. Disengage. Discretion is the better part of valor; the man is brandishing a knife. Either take him down, or walk away. One or the other, pick a lane; retreat, or drop the threat. Don't pick a fight with an armed man acting violent. That's a good way to, as we see here...get fucking stabbed.
