I have been a huge fan ever since I was little (although I didn't see 1 and 2 til I was a teen). I can watch those movies over and over and have all 7 on dvd and love them all. I even have the cartoon from the late 80s on dvd. If I could find a dvd of the short lived series I'd get that.
I remember one of those "80s movies are so offensive" from some moronic millenial or gen z complaining that Tackleberry was too aggressive which "in the times we live in" is problematic. She also didn't like the Blue Oyster joke or the fact that in the first movie guys are looking into the women showering.
Anyway, if you have seen them and somewhat liked them at least which one was your favorite and who was your favorite character?
My favorite is probably 4 which was the last one Guttenberg was in and my favorite characters would be Mahoney and Jones.
I remember being a kid and liking the guy who did funny voices and sound effects. I wanted to be like him and annoy everyone around me with random out of place sounds.
A few years ago he did Whole Lotta Love by Zeppelin with his mouth. Pretty amazing. It’s on YouTube
My dad loved them so I watched the Naked Gun films as a kid. Still enjoy them, but they are a throwback to an era long gone.
I love the Naked Gun movies as well. Unfortunately it is an era long gone. An era I really miss
I thought they were hot shit as a teen and remember genuinely laughing my ass off after renting them from the video store. Now that I have seen all the jokes they aren't as funny but still enjoyable when I see one. Not sure which one I like best but the earlier ones are better.
For at least a decade, if not more, my ringtone has been the stuff that plays in the Blue Oyster gay bar in those movies. I still get chuckles and laughs sometimes when it rings in public.
I only really liked 1 and 2
Norwegian TV kept showing most of them regularly during the 90s and 00s. Maybe they're still showing them for all i know, stopped watching TV long ago.
Loved Jones and Tackleberry.
They were hilarious. Love the first one where Tackleberry has his own gun for the shooting range
Was a big fan growing up. They were peak saturday afternoon fare on the middle of the dial channels. Need to revisit. Always loved Bobcat Goldthwaite in them because of how wacky he was.
Definitely worth a revisit
I remember loving them as a kid, but I haven't watched them since.
Worth a revisit
