Wow, could this guy have any worse of a voice? I've heard people criticize a performance as 'monotone' before but this takes the cake. Is he genuinely actually brain-damaged or retarded? What kind of simpleton just moans through all their lines never once altering their tone of timbre.
Way to take a good film and miss the point of it completely.
This guy uses a scrapped alternative ending that was only storyboarded as the director admits in a behind the scenes video narrating only that when they go 'it's in their blood' they stop and think 'so how the fuck are we going to deal with that? Bleach their veins?!?'. So they scrap the ending that would have ended with the MC sacrificing himself to save the infected dad and have him strapped to the table in a symbolic metaphor but also linking to the beginning of the film.
Linking it to 'White rage' is really stupid. Especially since 'White rage' as this guy demotes it comes off as gaslighting Westerners noticing that other cultures and races linked to them are less socially advanced as them, even with help.
Yeah, he's got some stuff where he's right on the money (George Carlin video), but other stuff where I go.....that's a bit of a stretch.
Like his matrix video.
The Matrix is the type of film that can be interpreted in dozens of ways and it's not your job to tell others what it means.
As a Christian, I see many spiritual truths of the Matrix some of which were no doubt intentional even though the Wachowski BROTHERS are obviously not Christian. Someone who wants to interpret the Matrix in a different way, even a surface, face value way is also legitimate.
His video on Jingle all the way seems legitimate and eye opening, but since I haven't seen it since I was a kid, I couldn't tell you if his analysis was accurate or cherry picked.
Yeah some people, like this guy, are so obsessed with "decoding" everything that they get locked into only seeing things in terms of others intent, usually in the worst way.
I took issue with that jingle all the way video, because it definitely feels like he's grasping at straws. All that "symbolism" only matters if you care about it and focus on it. Go too deep down those rabbit holes and you legitimately become schizophrenic.
The only interpretation I care about is my own. I don't really care how the author intended something to turn out if their words clearly differ from the end product.
