If you have the time check out Nightmare Cafe. Show came out in 91 and as a kid I loved it but it only lasted 6 episodes. About a man and a woman who die and find themselves in an all night cafe run by a guy named Blackie played by Robert Englund and people who recently died or are around death go there for a possible second chance. All 6 episodes are on YouTube. Show always has had a special place for me for some reason. Check it out if you have time

Used to love that show -- they used to have a bunch of weird and unique shows back in the 80s and 90s, like The Hitchhiker (not to be confused with the Rutger Hauer movie), Tales from the Darkside, or Monsters.
Whoa, I have not heard about Tales from the Dark side for a very long time. Now I want to find it.
I believe they are on Prime
Had such a scary intro. To a kid at least
Back in the day, the movies weren't afraid to scare children.
I’m really surprised it got cancelled so quickly. As a kid the Tales from the Darkside opening scared me
I have to be completely honest -- I genuinely no longer remember what the intro was like. I have not seen that show in decades. Your post reminded me of it, though.
I was also recently thinking about Monsters, but I can't remember a darn thing about it.
Nightmare Cafe? I definitely remember the diner setting and the doorway portal, but not much else.
Opened with “don’t touch that remote or you’ll die”. I’m actually going through Monsters as well. Haven’t seen it in years. Still trying to find the actors that played the family in the opening
