Marvel actually has a lot of really good storylines but the ones they have used they have either ruined with dumb woke bullshit or they have completely ignored. There is enough genuinely good material to make really good movies for a generation but they aren't doing that.
Doom's backstory has him going to hell to fight the devil to rescue his mother that was a witch but they're not going to do that.
They are either dumb as shit or doing it intentionally.
I think it's dumb as shit. I believe them when they say things like "there's no source material" as KK said.
Not that there isn't, but that they've never countenanced that it might exist.
The failure of humankind is the assumption that others doing strange things understand the same things but have reacted differently, when really they never even had the same information you did.
Doom literally had a story about him gaining the power of a god and finding it beneath him because of how certain of himself he is. While also still vowing to keep it because it belongs to him regardless.
That's a level of ego that is captivating on its own, but requires a considerably delicate hand to write. Something the MCU hasn't had since basically its earliest movies.
Despite Disney's Marvel bullshit, he's the only one that has a time machine. He used it to go back in time to Camelot where he learned magic from Morgan LaFey. Then he killed her.
He also stole some of the Beyonder's power as well as the power cosmic from the Silver Surfer. He's the only one besides Surfer that's ridden his surfboard.
and the Doombots he created invaded Wakanda. Most times he doesn't even have to show up, he sends a doombot to do the work for him.
He could easily take over the world if he wanted to.
Doom is unironically one of Marvel's strongest characters, who has his entire history and life hampered by being tied to one of Marvel's least popular teams (Fantastic 4). And not just the team itself, but the most generic and unlikeable member of said team that literally no one is a fan of.
Its a testament to his potential that he has succeeded in spite of that.

That's very true. I've always thought that. Fantastic Four have always been dull. Even West Coast Avengers were better than them.
