This ain't something I wanted to see but willing to wait to see how it plays out.
So far he's been ultra America first and hardline in dealing with other countries. Maybe this is a 'big ask' to get something off the Arab countries or to force Hamas to come to deal, I'll have to wait and see as he's at least earned that from his performance so far.
Not just a threat to get Arabs to negotiate - in the opening statement Bebe looks really uncomfortable whenever Trump said America would 'own Gaza'. Then in the Q&A when Trump reiterated off script Bebe actually visibly twitched and squirmed.
Israel doesn't want us there because then we're the big dog everything revolves around. If we have Fort Gaza then it'll be the seat of regional power not Israel.
So I don't see how this isn't a negotiation move. Trump is saying, you guys better work this out or we're going to impose a solution and you're going to hate it.
I'm not sure if you noticed, but Trumo stops being "ultra America First" for anything pertaining to Israel.
