To be fair, I don't think Bluesky is going to become merely another failed competitor. It certainly seems like it's being positioned as the replacement for twitter now that the latter's fallen into Musk's hands. Though I think a lot of people have noticed that they don't want to give up the ghost on twitter entirely, perhaps out of fear of bluesky failing to be a meaningful platform to engage on.
Time will tell how well it does.
It's not going to be a replacement for the sane portions of the general population, but I agree that at this point it's highly unlikely it just fades away like other attempts at a competitor. If there's one thing leftoids are amazing at it is all acting as one hivemind in unison with religious fervor which is extremely conducive to giving an upstart platform like that off the ground and helping it stay around.
True, but it’s so left wing and corrosive that normal people are viewed as literally Hitler. Can’t imagine any of my normie friends and associates using it.
