In a normal case it'd be kind of ridiculous to dither about "rape" vs rape-like "sexual abuse", but a newsman like Slopalopoulos knows full well the case and verdict is total bullshit so even saying "convicted of sexual abuse" is slanderous.
For him to then purposely spin the verdict as worse is at least double-bullshit.
The whole reason is that it's not a normal case. It's unprecedented because New York explicitly changed their state laws to enable this. If New York actually had to hold to a real legal standard he'd skate and they know it, because the supposed victim is not only blatantly making it up they're also a total lunatic.
That and the whole part where she went on a five minute rant on live TV about how she dreamed from teenage years about being raped and how hot she thought it was.
