It matters on principle, if these are teen/18+ games then there should be no argument. The people are adults and should dictate their own media consumption ESPECIALLY when it's all fictional.
If we have images of naked women in a 12 rated game, then we have a BIGGER discussion of what the fuck is happening within rating agencies. I doubt the latter is the case so this is a pointless discussion to have.
Its not, theres no nudity on any of the games she's ranting about. She's angry about DLC skins that have swimsuits in them. Claiming its porn being marketed at kids. She managed to get Grummz to block her.
That's just dumb, if it's dlc for an adult rated game then it's for adults, end of discussion.
This is just an indication of how much parents are STILL surking responsibility of their child's media consumption if they are trying to kick up a fuss about this.
The tools are THERE to monitor and control children's Internet use, USE THEM.
You're completely wrong about what they're talking about.
I said it in my other comment, but check the bottom of the article, here.
Tagging u/SoctaticMethod1 - This is the censorship they're talking about.
That's dumb as checking it, it's a 16 rating game
My argument is as always suitable content for the rating and these are just two posters that can easily be missed in a level. Gamers want the original experience just improved graphics and smoother gameplay that's it.
They're talking about Pierre's jacket at the bottom, not the posters.
Honestly, I'm mixed. I do think the original is a bit out of place...but I also hate censorship, and it's the principle at this point. If there wasn't such a trend of censoring and otherwise fucking up old games, I'd think the new censored version was an improvement, in this particular case. The pinup posters should stay, but the jacket is a bit weird. Also not a huge deal though, and would have been fine with the original version as well.
But, yeah, the jacket is a little weird. Who goes around with fully nude woman on their clothes? It happens, but it's pretty rare, and generally and correctly thought of as weird. The bikini version is less jarring, while still capturing the attitude of the original for the most part.
Again, I just hate the trend, though.
This was a different post. The one I found was for Legacy of Kain remake. She also hates most of the Korean games because the anime style is , as she has labeled it, "porn".
No, it's clear what they're talking about. "Jacket censored in [Tomb Raider] 1-3 collection. Statue AT LEAST censored in SR [Soul Reaver]..."
And then she responds to the jacket and fully nude woman. She's clearly talking about Tomb Raider I-III.
And, for the record, you're entitled to whatever opinion you want of course, I'm just asking you to correctly portray what they're all talking about. Which is the jacket in Tomb Raider which, yes, had a topless female.
No one is talking about male nudity in Soul Reaver, like you claimed. Or DLC swimsuits.
