I read the books in 16 and I’m glad I didn’t start reading in the 90s when the first one came out. If I was his publisher I’d try to convince him to just let someone else finish. I will say that I’m very hesitant to start an unfinished book series now.
Sorta happened with Wheel of Time. Except Robert Jordan died before he could finish, he had a decent release schedule.
I know a lot of fans criticize how Sanderson finished the books, and a lot he didn't do, but he was given an impossible task so I am just happy we got an ending, even if it wasn't optimal. So I am the same now, I won't start an unfinished series.
I read the Wheel of Time books when covid lockdowns started. I agree he did a good job the difficult task he was given. I wish the adaptation had been done before the age of DEI.
I remember a young author of fantasy said that he noticed people are hesitant to read a series that isn’t finished and he partially blamed GRRM

Look for the Billy Zane version online, it's only the prologue from the first book though because they were trying to retain the rights by actually making something with it which was then broadcast at like 3 in the morning on some random day nobody was told about.
Started reading when A Feast for Crows came out (2005) on the recommendation of my friend's dad who started reading the series way back in 97/98. Back then I remember the ~5 year gap between Swords and Crows was a big deal to people. If only they knew.
Martin seems to have enough money and not enough motivation to finish the series. The guy should just throw a million at someone like Sanderson to ghost-write and finish the damn series. Not that I would care, I checked out of the books back in 2015 when it was obvious that Martin was more interested in making TV shows.

Thanks!
I enjoyed Sanderson's work in WOT. I love his kinetic writing style. I know people criticize his prose, but I like his everyman style
I couldn't stand how much of an edge lord he is
GRRM?
Yes

Sanderson ghost write, are you looking for a happy ending?
Hoid shows up and steals the Iron Throne for shits and giggles, The End.
Yeah I didn't want to get to nerdy and say if Sanderson finished it he'd put ASOIAF in the Cosmere
At this point I'm just looking for an ending.
Yea. I know it’s petty but I refuse to watch any of the spinoff shows. He acts like it’s odd that people want him to finish the series.
Same. I refused to watch any of GoT beyond the first season. Seeing how the ending of that series let everyone down was quite enjoyable though.
