As someone who never got into GI Joe, I went to see what else I might recognize her from. And outside that one character, it was just the bad Spiderman cartoon from the 80s that nobody remembers where she was Aunt May/Black Cat and then basically a lot of bit work in the 80s before a complete desert after the 90s started. Must have made a lot of money off that one role or went into different work.
Its a tragedy regardless because I assume her complete dominance in the role was for a reason and probably a good part of a lot of childhoods.
After resuming college in 1989 to finish her bachelor’s degree and then getting a master’s degree in history from Cal State History, Lofting became a librarian and started “bartending with books.”
She also had a son. So connecting some dots, she was a stay-at-home mom who took up voice acting at the age of 39, followed by a variety of other activities, as a hobby after her child left home.
All solid choices for a woman to make. Honestly VA work as a sidegig for SAHMs should be more common, but its an industry filled with bitter Leftie women who'd never allow that.
Just imagine having (relatively) well-adjusted mothers enter voice acting as a sidegig once their kids are old enough to go to school. You can hear the career women's ovaries shrivel up.
Always loved The Baroness. Way hotter than Scarlett, Cover Girl, or that "Dyke projecting" Lady Jaye. Married a bad girl because of how it informed on my young maturation as a boy. Thank you dear Lady, Rest in Peace.
RIP to a legend. Watched GI Joe as a kid a lot. Currently watching now.
I never did watch the old G.I. Joe series.
One of the few things I've been made aware about the original franchise thoughout my life though- Baroness is fucking hot.
Back when kids cartoons didn't shy away from the fanservice.
