Trading one evil for another is inevitable, when the "good guys" are colluding to force their political worldview into everything they touch. The AAA industry can either stop being evil, or go extinct as they are replaced by indies and malicious actors like China.
This isn't on the gamers who bought and defend Wukong. This is on all of the American companies who gave gamers no other options.
The only problem with this idea is that it presupposes people must and will continue to buy games as they come out in some form.
Which might be true for some, but isn't a guarantee in any way. Gaming isn't like cars or food, where you are required to keep consuming products as they are made and must pick from the best course action. You could just stop buying games and play a stupidly large back catalogue indefinitely.

As if that wasn't the plan in the first place. They've been trying to transfer power to China for a while now, because China is far more friendly to corruption than the west is.
Unfortunately, the Wukong game proves that people will gladly devour evil slop and call it the Messiah if it says something anti-woke to them.

Therein lies the issue. Its a fine game, pretty good even. But people are treating it like some mega Godsend because "he said no to the woke mafia!! BASED!!!!" Because don't pretend like a single person here would have given an iota of a shit about the game if that didn't happen.
But it did, and now everyone gives China, who is objectively evil, more of a pass because "eh better than the evil we know" when they produce their own literal slop and let us partake.
Though, since it is objectively that good I'm sure you can name all the specific ways its better than its competitors in its genre besides "no niggers or girlbosses." What does it do that blows Dark Souls or Nioh or Sekiro out of the water? After all, that's how objectively better works.

Wukong is a game most people wouldn't give a second glance if the Western market wasn't such a tossing dumpster fire. In fact, in the last decade most Chinese made games -- regardless of quality -- have gone completely ignored (outside of their mobile gacha titles). It was only up until recently did they get any attention and it was precisely because the West has fallen so massively.
The thing I dread the most is that semi-woke and outright woke games that aren't Dustborn-tier quality will soon start getting a pass because that's all the market will be flooded with. In fact, I wouldn't even be surprised to see people roll over and accept a game like Avowed if they find the combat decent enough and some gameplay loops just barely engaging.
I dread the day when we get a game starring some trans-lesbian cyborg played by Debra Wilson loudly proclaiming her pronouns through an obscenity-laced tired, all while killing a straight white man in Nazi garb. People will proclaim the game as being "good enough" because it's a bloated UE6 title that barely runs at 20fps on a PC that costs 10 grand, and some of its mechanics work most of the time on half the computers it's played on, but it will get a pass because it happens to be "95% better" than all of the other uber-ultra-woke corposlop flooding the market.
