The conspiracy theory is that it didn't happen.
The reason why people might think it was staged is because of a few things.
The fact that a port a potty company was given unrestricted access to the scene of the crime to bring out of state portable toilets by the dozen before even the ambulances, police or fire rescue crews were allowed in. When there was a place that rented them in town that could have been used instead.
The fact that the million dollar schoolgrounds were in shambles with vines growing on the outside of the facility, and enough mold growing on the ceiling tiles that you could see in the obviously unused and super dust filled 'classrooms' to get the place condemned, let alone open for school. Then demolished mere weeks before the insurance could even take a look at the state of the place.
The fact that some surviving kids from the sandy hook school were singing America The Beautiful at Super Bowl XLVII (2013) only a few months after the incident, and some of them look way too much like some that were supposedly killed at the event. (Sandy Hook incident took place December 14th, 2012 and Super Bowl XLVII was Feb 3rd 2013)
And I'm sure I'm missing a few of the supporting claims for said conspiracy.
Also that some of the parents, at some points during the press conferences or whatever seemed odd in their emotional-social demeanor.
Which is to say, they didn't look nearly as broken or distraught as you'd expect most parents to be after losing their kids in such a meaningless act of violence.
Yeah, I get overcome with grief, but that looks very different from what they were doing.

Also most of the "The fact that..." stuff conspiracy theorists claim is typically completely fabricated, much like the "BLUE ROOFS" shit in Lahaina.

After the performance, the children returned to their school and community, where they continued their education and lives. Unfortunately, the exact whereabouts of the individual children who sang at the Super Bowl are not publicly disclosed due to privacy concerns and the sensitive nature of the tragedy. However, it is clear that they were part of a special tribute to honor the memories of their fellow students and teachers who lost their lives in the shooting.
