Nothing but a bunch of children all running away together with a backpack full of lunchables and soda. I give it a month before they come crawling back, bloviating about how 'Democracy' is far too important to not be involved or something.
I think their long-term goal is to ban or shut down X. They're going to try to vacate the platform so it becomes "toxic" to advertisers, or so "evil" that European citizens should not be allowed access anymore.
Quitting a social media platform but still using it is the new saying you're leaving USA because Trump won, but still living exactly where you always have.
they left because all of their posts had commenters making fun of every article and rebuking their points
must have been brutal for the authors to go see those threads and have to deal with hostile commenters speaking the truth directly to them instead of the extremely filtered bubble opinions they were used to. it was basically a different comment section that they had no control over and that stood up to their narrative
the average guardian writer was probably begging for them to end it
you can see it on pretty much every news feed twitter account. mainstream media is getting fucking owned
The Guardian’s statement on Wednesday said that its journalists will continue to use X as a news-gathering source. But X, it said, now plays a “diminished role in promoting our work.” All Guardian-related accounts on X now say they have been archived.

Good analogy.

Can't they just turn off replies?
