He was anti-Trump and in a lot of leftist circles for a long time but genuinely changed his mind similar with how many of us that used to be on the left have.
There is some doubt in me that his change of heart it is temporary. The fact that he claims to be Christian while his wife is not is very, very iffy. If you truly believe that Christ is the only way to eternal life then you would want the same for your wife and kids.
If things turn sour I can see him turning on Trump and joining Democrats.
I would feel more comfortable with him if he had white kids. Not do to a racist reason but he would be motivated to fight against the left. Similar as with mothers of boys being more conservative.
I’m currently reading Hillbilly Elegy. I also remember when the media loved him and his story about growing up poor. They turned on him fast. Then again Trump was pretty well loved until 2015
I remember he mentioned some time ago how people at Yale were very awkward around him because he was from Appalachia. Is hard to claim "white privilege" in front of someone from Appalachia. I think he was on Ben Shapiro. That part stuck in my mind. He seems ok but I'm not 100% sure he is not playing a role because he wanted a carrier in politics and as a straight white dude without connections he has 0 chance as a Democrat.
If he is playing a role then he is very good at it and has planned this many years in advance, I would be impressed if that was the case. Hopefully it is not.
He mentions being atheist for a period before converting to catholicism. I'd guess he was married prior to the conversion. However I've known many Christians to date and marry non-Christians so who knows.
To be fair, I'm there are a lot of people on the right who are cultural Christians who don't really believe it. It's a costume to wear because it pisses off the left, and they know that Christianity is deeply tied to Western Civilization and our nation's founding, so it's more of a cultural pillar to protect. But deep inside they don't actually believe it. You'd see more Fruit of the Spirit from them if they did.
I think he is ok.

These people will claim 'white privilege' in front of a homeless white boy from a poor Eastern European country.
Hope so too
At least shes not a negress but a pajeet.
They can still benefit from affirmative action, hence my issue.
