I enjoy a lot of the usual suspects in the "fandom menace" as they call themselves. Drinker, Mauler, Nerdrotic, Ryan Kinel, etc. But there are a few glaring blind spots in that whole side of right leaning media culture. First, they (and I would argue a lot on the right in general) are so starved for non-leftist entertainment that they're like starving dogs who will eat any slop off the table so long as it's not literal shit. I mean, look at how many people were jacking off to Wukong simply for being a little better than the DEI slop shat out by western devs despite being literal Chinese propaganda. Western entertainment has sunken so low and become so awful that anything that is even 1% better is hailed as a massive victory and overly celebrated. This causes them to get too far out in front of the skis and they end up praising things that turn out to have been wokeshit all along. The amount of "Disney is DYING! New viewer numbers for [slightly less woke mediocre show] prove that the era of woke is OVER!" video headlines in bold red and white text is embarrassing. And every time it turns out a few weeks, a few months later that the thing they said killed woke or killed Disney ended up being pretty meh and only got worser later on. Being only a few molecules better than the worst of the worst is overly praised and celebrated, and they lose sight of all the ways that stuff is still almost as bad.

And then there's the whole "we'll produce our own!" cringe media put out by the Daily Wire and others, where the shows and movies are objectively pretty meh, with mediocre scripts, bad acting, and and over emphasis on just being "anti woke" because they want to "own the libs" instead of making the actual story or characters enjoyable on their own. The focal point of these productions is to just lampoon and parody leftist shit, and in the process they forget that they're supposed to be making something people will like, not just making something that is the opposite of other stuff they hate.

The second problem is more insidious. And that is very few of them understand the real motivation behind woke, and thus are not mentally prepared to understand the game that is being played against them. It's actually kind of related to the whole reason there's a KiA2 in the first place and how half-KiA was strictly "we're just about ethics in game journalism". There's a whole segment of the right leaning "nerdsphere" that has blinders on to the enemy we're facing and "just wants to play good video games". We see this manifest in the right-leaning media space in general, with the likes of Drinker, et al. It basically amounts to a single sentiment: "I'll gladly drink your poison so long as it tastes good". Their problem with woke media is that it's unenjoyable. They focus on the DEI hires who are bad at their jobs, the latest entitled mid-20s brown cunt hired to play the sassy girlboss in a movie, the soyjack open mouthed queers hired to write the latest Star Wars novel or TV show, the stuck up 23yo ethot who has a job in accounting that just TikToks themselves eating expensive snacks all day. And they think that if these people were replaced with competent workers, all would be better. They want their leftist propaganda to be more skillfully made and delivered to them. They don't actually seem to much care if it's filled to the brim with queer, feminist, racemixing, anti White, anti-Christian, anti-male, anti-Western ideology. Only that it's ham-fisted and obviously preachy. If it all of that poison was packaged with a tighter script, better acting, and sold with a friendly face instead of screaming at us that we're bigots, they'll happily slurp it all up. They don't understand that we are actually very fortunate the people who are deliberately trying to poison and kill our culture are terrible at their jobs and bumbling fools who step in their own shit so often. We'd be much much worse off if those propagandizing to us were actually good at doing (like China is).
