Reminds me of an episode of The Orville where they transport down to a pre-warp planet because an anthropological team went missing. The chief engineer (who is a black guy) thought it would have been a good idea to start dry humping a statue in public and he got arrested for it. Turns out the society of the planet is like that episode of Black Mirror with a social credit system, with a twist that it's determined by social media. So the video of him desecrating that statue, who was of some revered figure, went viral. It's at this point we learn what happens to those who get canceled on that planet, they get lobotomized. Which is what happened to the missing anthropology team. They went viral because they didn't give up their seat on a bus to a pregnant woman.
That guy should have been spaced for doing something that stupid. Can't remember if he was the Chief Engineer at that point in the first season but if he was then he should have been court martialed and barred from ever serving on a ship ever again, and if he wasn't it should have permanently prevented him from ever being put in a position of authority.

I hate Seth MacFarlane, but damn if he didn't nail that episode.
