and they are all owned by a single ethnic group
No way, what are the odds of that?
1 in a googolplex. Isn't the universe mind-blowing? Something so seemingly impossible, yet we are alive to see it actually happen completely by coincidence. Amazing!
Yup
When you have zero-percent interest rates for so long, there's no reason not to buy out your competition with borrowed money.
The problem is most of those companies are suffering. They are merging because they can't grow any further. Heck, now several companies are directly part of each other. MSNBC is now over Universal Films and Theme Parks. The Theme Parks have very little to do with the News or TV shows. Films by Viacom are all considered part of the same past a certain point of Bureaucracy.
It's happening like this to all of the companies. Warner Bros is probably up for sale. Paramount just sold for $8 Billion. Nickelodeon is trying to have a new theme park without the requirements that Universal have them back in the day. It's a very weird and slowly collapsing system.

Media influence and media alt reality is the biggest issue facing humanity right now. The ability to manipulate and influence people without their even being that aware of its effects is causing constant social disruption.
Look at the posts here where people are either breaking down because media world told them Trump would kill them or they are people acting like they "won" and are exuberant beyond reason as if something is going to change in the political/economic system.
This is due to media and tech speaking to people in primarily parasocial and other emotionally manipulative methods, which causes the general public will subscribe to whatever they tell them too.
Remember the coof times when 90% of the world lost their minds without really any reality around then to reflect what was being shown in media.
