So you’re full of shit. Why was the commonwealth formed? Was it the Livonian war? What was that one about? Also the 30 year war was quite literally GERMANY having a civil war. What did you think the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation was?
In what way is that relevant? We're not talking about why a state was formed. But to answer you question the commonwealth was formed because Lithuania was losing against Moscow/Russia and its nobility wanted to ensure their status.
If you still want to pretend that Poland was a noble, peaceful nation who never attacked anyone how do you explain Poland taking Lithuanian territory after WW1? Was that also just defensive? Or just a retaking of rightfully Polish clay despite the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth being a union between Poland and Lithuania?
Stop playing the eternal victim. It's really fucking embarrassing. Have some pride.
The 30 Years war started as a religious war between Catholics and Protestants that involved not just the German states but Spain, France, Denmark, Sweden and Czechia of which only Czechia was part of the HRE.
The Holy Roman Empire was not, even when it was named Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation, anything close to a unified Germany. It was compromised of countless autonomous German and non-German states. Its emperor had almost no authority.
Pop plans claimed a small portion of land after gaining independence, they’re just as bad as the people who conquered them for over 500 years….
The 30 year war was quite literally a civil war. It is defined as such the outside participants were allied to either the Hapsburgs or the Protestants
Who? Are you talking about Lithuania?
For a civil war you need to have an actual unified nation.
So now your claim is that the HRE didn’t have a civil war that split the nation apart and created modern France and Germany, fascinating. When did Poland gain independence?
