Because I ain't subscribing to read from this shitty news site, most important question:
How old was the student?
Regardless of age, she should be stricken off because she can't do the bare minimum of keeping private and professional life seperate around those she has authority over.
The age just increases the amount of punishment depending on how low it goes..
If she is going to cross ethical lines to fuck a 17 year old student, how do we know she won't do something lesser like accept bribes to alter grades?
Males should get the same result but you have a lot more leaning on the rape conviction side even when it's a 17 year old with no force used and is more an ethical issue than criminal compared to cases like this.
In the UK for those in a position of trust such as teaching (as this woman was), the age of consent rises to 18 for those you are trusted with. She is a criminal in the eyes of the law.
Thanks hate these media sites being so subscription heavy to read more than a paragraph.
Also just noting this here, you can see the bias when she's getting all these 'flattering' photos in the article and you know the male equivalent would be mugshot galore.

Student was 17 years old
So get struck off from teaching for life, fair punishment.
Teaching of minors anyway. And naturally I expect male teachers convicted of the same crime to get the same fair punishment.
Should be all to be honest.

ah, thank you. I was answering the question, but without that context, the judge's statement sounds...sketchy...
