They gendered and race swapped a bunch of folks. They also make the little black kid into a miraculous vampire killing machine. It's also just an okay movie so you aren't missing much.

I'm not quite that bad. If I see a black main character in a new thing I immediately assume it's anti white propaganda, but I'm not gonna besmirch my homies Barrett, Blade, or Morpheus just because their race has been weaponized long after the thing they were in.
Well okay, anti white propaganda is much older than any of them, but it was a lot less insidious until recently.
You need to look into blacksplotation films. Shaft, Blacula, and others were either awesome or hilarious. Sometimes a bit of both.
Then watch The Golden Bat which is a vampire kung fu movie by Hammer films.
The actor could stop taking roles either historically known for being one way, such as Perry White from Superman, or modern live action adaptations which have a source material that includes visual media, like with Regis from the Witcher series.
Someone made a thread about the Witcher casting when it was announced earlier this year with visual comparisons from the game.

There's far fewer good black characters in movies these days, but I'll never reject a black character out of hand because I know great and honorable black people. I suspect Rudyard Kipling was thinking along those lines when he wrote The Ballad of East and West.
Kipling also thought it was the white man's burden to train non-whites to act like whites.
It would've been better not to undertake that in the first place but since they did, it would've been better for the world if Western countries just stuck to that mindset.
