Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Saying it "cannot cope" with large number of migrants crossing its border, the Netherlands unveiled strict new anti-immigration measures Friday.
Prime Minister Richard Schoof and Minister of Asylum and Migration Marjolein Faber will enact the new emergency law "as soon as possible," the government said in a statement.
The legislation will pave the way for the country to opt out of the European Union's asylum and migration policy, which it plans to do next week.
"The voter has given a clear mandate. We need to change course and the influx must be reduced immediately. We are taking measures to make the Netherlands as unattractive as possible for asylum seekers. And there is no place here for anyone who abuses our hospitality. I am going for a safer Netherlands," Faber said in the statement.
The Netherlands last fall elected the nationalist conservative, far-right Party for Freedom or PVV. The PVV garnered around a quarter of total seats in the Dutch parliament and now leads a coalition government.
"People feel the consequences of the asylum crisis every day," Faber said in a video statement posted on X.
Faber also made it clear the Netherlands will ask Brussels for an opt-out of the EU asylum and migration policy and instead "join forces with like-minded countries in Europe" in a move she said will strengthen control of the country's border.
The government said the "strictest asylum regime ever" is necessary to curb the flow of migrants into the country it contends is leading to problems in the public housing, health care and education sectors.
Under the new rules, the Netherlands' declaration of undesirability will be expanded in an effort to more quickly deport immigrants who commit crimes.
The term nuclear family will also be limited to the narrowest possible definition. The country plans to only allow families of migrants to reunite if a clear permanent residence exists and one family member has had legal residence status for at least two years. That family member will also need to have a "suitable income."
Asylum seekers will now be required to return to their country of origin as soon as it is safe there and will no longer automatically receive an asylum permit for an indefinite period after five years.
"By limiting the influx, fast procedures, a punitive approach to troublemakers, stricter border controls, limiting the possibilities for subsequent travel and firmly focusing on return, the Netherlands must become a leader in Europe when it comes to admission rules," the government said in its statement.
How about you start by not calling economic migrants "asylum seekers"? Because we all know they're not. Asylum seekers don't stay in a country. They leave. Migrants migrate. It's that simple.
Oh, you're not going to acknowledge this simple, basic truth? Then you can get fucked.
Invaders.
The correct term is "invaders".
That's great rhetoric, but it's not the point. Invaders is a term that's easy for people to dismiss because it's intentionally meant to be dramatic. And I agree that they're invaders, but it doesn't accurately define the issue that normal people can understand the difference between. Asylum seekers are victims in their eyes, economic migrants are opportunistic scavengers.
And it's something that smarmy politicians can't fucking deny that these people are actively gaming the system to avoid normal immigration policy. We all know it, but even the people claiming to support immigration reform refuse to state the cold hard truth that these asylum seekers are not seeking asylum, they're seeking migration. And correctly labelling this reality is, in my opinion, the first small step to admitting the truth. If they cannot even call a spade a spade, they're never going to do the right thing. So why should this too little too late stuff even be acknowledged as being too little when it's not even a step in the right direction, but entirely about saving their own skin and nothing else?
I vehemently disagree that the general populace makes this distinction. These two terms are synonyms in the mind of your average person. This is why I like the term "invader", it is unambiguous.
Then we're at a disagreement.
Meanwhile in Germany [high treason]:
Germany signs agreement with Kenya to bring in SKILLED [emphasis mine] workers and plug labor market gaps
The agreement was signed during a visit to Germany by Kenyan President William Ruto, who met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
Scholz told reporters after a signing ceremony that it was an important agreement that marks an effort by Germany and Kenya to cooperate more closely on migration.
“This can help us to compensate for a shortage of skilled workers,” Scholz said, adding that Germany is already feeling the impact of such a labor shortage and that it “will be with us for years and decades to come.”
Germany has grappled for years with the NEED TO [emphasis mine] attract more skilled workers from outside the European Union. Experts say the country NEEDS [emphasis mine] about 400,000 skilled immigrants each year as its aging workforce shrinks.
AKA "Wah, we need a slave underclass!"
I swear, leftists routinely expose themselves to be the worst people possible.
BUT HOW WILL WE KEEP LABOR COSTS LOW WITH OUR MASSIVE WELFARE SYSTEM?!!!
WE CAN'T JUST LET PEOPLE'S WAGES RISE, AND CUT GOVERNMENT SPENDING!
THEN WE WON'T HAVE A SLAVE CLASS AT ALL!!!!
Haven't they sucked the eastern EU dry of workers, now they need nigs and jeets? Oh I know, because you have to give them same rights as citizens, while non-EU citizens coming on work visas are effectively a slave caste.
"Ask Brussels." Yeah, I'm sure that will be useful.
Just do that without asking. Tell the EU that several of its members will start enforcing their borders and if they don't like it, they can fuck off. Start forming direct alliances and operating as blocs so that Brussels can't push you around anymore. Or just leave the EU.

What border?????? Other than the maritime border(which clearly isn't as convenient as the Mediteranean for migrants to get into the Schengen Area), Netherlands only neighbors Schengen states. This means they can't do jack about migrants crossing the border, unless they leave the Schengen Area(and knowing Brussels this will also imply leaving the EU). And even if they use "the you can put border controls back temporarily" card, if the migrants have permits from Germany or other migrant friendly schengen states, they can't do much about it.
They know very well Brussels will NOT accept this but hey brownie points for the people who voted for them.
Good luck deporting """""""""""asylum seekers""""""""""" who burned their passports before requesting asylum. If only they were allowed to put them on a boat and leave them to their fate.

The Danes were evicted from England, the Muslims were evicted from Spain.
It is by no means either too little or too late.
