Yes like 14 years after unrest began.
Like seriously, no Whites had the good sense to get out by then?
The Haitian revolution was supposed to be against French rule. There were plenty of White, European, and even ethnically French people in Haiti were working with the revolution and intended on simply overthrowing the government. They did not expect that it would be followed up with an ethnic cleansing.
The slave rebellion was entirely separate from whatever revolutionary tendencies Whites had on the island. And by the time the massacre happened the war / unrest had been going on for some time.
No, the slave rebellion and a liberal revolution tend to go hand in hand. Liberalism is antithetical to slavery and vice versa. This is why there were whites that were spared for working with the revolutionaries. And yes, the war had been going on for some time, and there were whites on the side of the revolutionaries.
They got caught off-guard by the genocide, which is why you shouldn't trust Leftists.
Nobody was caught off guard. This is like all Republican Californians getting slaughtered in LA country in 2040 a decade into the new civil war. You have to leave when the writing is on the wall.
Second the former slaves got wind that they would have slavery imposed on them if France (ie Whites) got into power again. Who was going to enforce it once the army left?
That's called "White Flight" and it's an extremely racist thing to do, sweaty.
