Disclaimer: yes, I own a raspberry pi, no I don't want a bunch of games ported(I really don't care, I have plenty of emulators as it is), I just think it would be funny if a bunch of studio execs were scratching their heads trying to figure out why this semi-obscure platform suddenly has a bunch of people begging them to port to it.

You can install Steam, which means you have access to Proton, which means 99% of games will just work fine already.
Does that work on ARM?
Apparently Steam "works" on ARM if you install an x86 emulator, I'm assuming that Proton also works if Steam does. https://pimylifeup.com/raspberry-pi-steam-client/
Why would I want to troll the publisher of my favorite game of all time?
Good point.
maybe troll the maker of some woke trash instead?
If they "port" it to pi they'll be porting to to Linux. This is a good thing. It's about time Microsoft lost their OS monopoly on gaming
true-ish
raspberry pi uses an arm processor, as opposed to x64, which to my understanding have different instruction sets, features, etc, so it wouldn't necessarily work on a pc without a little (more likely a lot) of tweaking...
agree on the microshaft part 100% though.
It really depends. I'm no game dev but they're so reliant on pre-made engines these days that I would imagine cross-compiling isn't the challenge it used to be. Mobile is dominated by ARM and Unity shit move between them and PC fairly easily from what I've heard.
Also, the Switch is ARM so people already ask for it. As were the 3DS, DS, GBA, Vita, and N-Gage (lol)
good point, maybe.
All I was saying is porting to raspberry pi wouldn't be the same as porting to pc linux, you'd probably need some sort of workaround, at which point you might as well just use wine/proton, lol
There's an official version of Linux for it, plus a dozen flavors of other stuff as well.
You make a good point though...
You can probably already play Aurora and Dwarf Fortress on it.
no doubt, lol.
I demand Simpsons Hit and Run be ported to my phone.
