Or do you see it as an overt cash grab

It's not a cashgrab. It's just another opportunity to bash on straight, White men. Tony Stark was the heart of the MCU, the foundation. Turning him into Doctor Doom, even if it's some alternate reality version (like the Iron Maniac) has only one purpose - to destroy his reputation, to say "See? This is what he was like all along."
You're mostly correct, but this absolutely is a cash grab as they're doing anything they can think of to bring people back to what they destroyed.
The icing on the cake for them is subverting their previously beloved character, but no matter what it has to put butts back in theater seats.
Agreed. Probably would have gone better if they just made another Iron Man movie or Captain America movie. A larger issue though is that they pretty much drained the well at this point of all the biggest characters in Marvel and had them all go out with a bang in End Game. There are other great stories but they can’t do them since they already did the MCU in its current form.
Could have just done more X Men movies, which they tried doing with the new Deadpool movie. It was better than all the other shit they put out since End Game for the most part.
They’re also trying to do something relatively unprecedented in making an infinite franchise of movies that release yearly forever with unlimited budgets. And they’re doing it in a climate where everyone’s sick of them making movies for fans that are about how they hate the fans and everything the fans value.
Your name has to be ironic.
