Gaming always has to compete with the past. This is more true now than ever. Just like streaming shows struggle to beat 20 year old properties; I can play almost any game released for the last 40 years. Is your new AAA $70 game fun? Maybe. Is it more fun than playing Descent 2 again? More fun than the entire Kiseki backlog? Does the new dragon age look better than Origins? Nope.

Well the solution to above is to abolish the past and burn it according to AAA, they do not want to preserve any game and the old ones that exist is considered a mistake.

I must be the only one who thinks that video games overall get better over time. Maybe not on average. But the best games get better. Maybe they just get easier, for me, cuz I suck?
