I don't get it. Being a provider would indeed be the complimentary role to a SAHM if you are trying for that setup. If you prefer some other household arrangement, you probably should say what that is.
Its not just buying a house. Its buying HER a house
Are you under the impression the children will be made to live outside?
I think if she'd said buy us a home it would have came across as less risky for anyone willing to go that far.
I'm under the impression the house will be legally under her name and once she gets it she can do whatever she wants and he's screwed
I was under the impression she said this shit for attention, and you took the bait.
Being a provider usually means you buy yourself a house to raise your family in. Buying a house for the woman is what happens when she divorces you.
No no that's when you just give her the house
That's what I meant. If you were to be co-owners it would make more sense to say, "buy us a house".
Basically red flags abound.
Its a problem of framing, in which it reveals enough about the person behind it to suspect the otherwise solid idea is a trap.
Its like a grown man telling your underaged daughter she needs to learn to suck dick better to keep her future husband happy. Its completely true, but him saying it in that way (if out loud at all) means its out of line.
To be clear, I would not marry this woman with TheImp's ring finger.
