As ever, Treehouse insists on removing Japanese cultural elements and touchstones from their localizations. Been like this back in the 3ds era with the Fire Emblem debacle, been like it now.
It's literally restoring the original dialogue from the Japanese script. It was the American dub that removed it. Normally your statement would be correct, but in this case the old 2004? dub was heavily modified and censored. This re-release is closer to the original.
You're perfectly free to hate the character, but it's kind if silly how people are acting like this is some new thing. God forbid people acknowledge Nintendo of sucking the Tranny dick decades before it was cool.
That argument would hold water, except they're changing other things from the script willy-nilly to avoid stepping on lefty toes. No fat jokes, no skinny jokes. No Bowser calling Kammy an airhead. No catcalling goombas. (Dupree still gets to hit on Goombella with his heavy French accent though. Weird...) No saying Luigi in a dress is horrifying....
Japanese crossdressing characters have no cultural connection to American-style queerness, even if American queers get very loud and obnoxious about it.

That's a very strange statement since the article actually provides the original Japanese and it is not, in fact, the same at all.

An effeminate male is not the same thing as a tranny. Unless you think all twinks and traps must actually be female as well.
This is just trannies trying to lay claim to something that has nothing to do with them to force representation in mainstream games people love.
no, he was originally a girly boy being made fun of by his incredibly ugly sisters.
