some guy on that thread said it can't ever be assumed artists nowadays aren't far leftists, because any "genuine conservative" who could make art too "had their creative spark snuffed by their boomer parents".
so, in essence, "i can't be sane AND make cool art, my boomer parents didn't let me!"
and we wonder why our side of the culture war seems to be in charge of so little of the pop culture we are trying to change. i hope this gets figured out eventually. people buy 60 dollar AAA games to whine the franchises were ruined, but can't spare a minute or a dime to find a third positionist artist to support instead, in an age where we KNOW being sane makes every institution seek to bankrupt you...
Well, here's exhibit A of the boomer mindset. I would agree that art can be panhandling up to the point you get paid enough to make it worth it. Then it's a widget just like anyone else builds.
The worth of good art is self-evident throughout history. The damage that malicious art can do is also thus.
Today art is typically left wing is because the modern pipeline and gatekeeping system trends left. When the system was traditional, you get Bach and Michelangelo. Why is the system left wing? Because of right wing decadence and laziness. The right wing took a libertarian "live and let live" position combined with an irreligious, shortsighted capitalist position and essentially abandoned the turrets of gatekeeping to goblins.
I don't think you can pin all the blame on "decadence and laziness"
Central banking (+ fiat currency) changed the structure of society. Whoever prints the money holds the power.
Centralized mass media helped reinforce this power.
The "Right Wing" that exists today exists only because the Regime decided to create a fake controlled-opposition in the 1960s

Artists are typically leftoids because it's a no value added profession. Leftism is an ideology for the chronically worthless, the useless eaters.
Nothing and I do mean nothing exemplifies that better than an "artist." It's basically panhandling but less creative.
