I'm not saying that piracy is the way to go, but having a data dump which can then be extracted onto whatever physical means required for a system to play it is a good idea.
One day these games will be out of copyright and it would be good for games/tech historians/hobbyists to see what came before (Both the hardware and the software).
As much as I dislike Nintendo and Capcom keeping the prices of their older games high, they were good games and deserve a play. Unless there is a massive shift in what we consider easily repeatable published art they will enter the public domain and their price should reflect upon that for basic decency and wish for the player to be respected for their passions.
Then I'll say piracy is the way to go. A moral imperative even, in some cases. However most of the time I will gladly support the developers and buy their product if it's a good game.
Yeah the fact that a company was replaced from people who do actual work and create things to economic vampires who simply sell things others have made does not mean you owe them anything. Especially when it comes to used goods, then you're just paying the middle men who hold stuff in a warehouse.
