I do not care what Islam thinks, I care about what they do. Islamic doctrine is clear when it comes to dar al islam and dar al harb, and Islam has been applying that for the last 1400 fucking years.

Violent islamic terrorists operate 100 percent within islamic doctrine when they murder unbelievers. Because of this, I have to assume the worst from any muslim, because at any moment, any currently non-violent muslim can go fundamentalist, and strap on a bomb. This has happened over, and over, and over again.
The preservation of my culture against a known threat means I don't have to find out what kind they are.
A truly objective mind would apply that same kind of reasoning to many people who are indoctrinated into a religion or other dogma.
I am not saying that you are incorrect in your assumptions based on what you know, I would however ask that you look outside of that particular dataset and see that it is prevalent elsewhere too.

See how many Palestinians are being welcomed into their neighbouring Muslim countries for an example of that.
