If you look at the beaucracy and horrors that follow something as simple as a Death Penalty execution, you should know the government can never be trusted with that tool.
Alabama did the first nitrogen execution this year, in pursuit of a more "humane" method because Lethal Injections fail more than they work and cause massive torture, and it ended with the guy literally convulsing in misery and gasping for air in the most horrific method possible.
State's response? "Well its no longer untested so its now free to be used by anyone who wants!"
The only problem I have with it is how weird and uppity the government gets when you give them a playtoy like MAID; Canada being the prime example.
