Yea they usually focus on one woman who was in the gaming industry back in the day and ignore that it still was a majority male industry. The sequel book to ready player one is full of women in gaming/too many white ppl crap
Back in the 70s and 80s when a woman or black were doing technical work (outside of govt contracts that were already corrupted) you could be sure they knew their stuff.
Now you can't trust anyone who isn't a White or Asian man to know how to do his job because the diversity hiring is ubiquitous.
I agree. And today these people complain about the perception that they didn’t earn their job. They should be the main ones fighting to end affirmative action
That's not true unfortunately. "Affirmative Action" started in 1961.
The phenomenon of identifying unqualified non-White workers as "Affirmative Action Hires" was already ongoing in the 80s and 90s. There was more accountability and less tolerance for f-ups in earlier decades, so bad workers probably got fired more readily, but the statistical trend for workers is that in basically every profession a Black person filling in a role has a ~10-15 pt lower IQ than a similarly accredited White person. (No idea for Hispanics, but presumably somewhere in the middle there.)
But still, most had to be good at their jobs because a good chunk of your coworkers already hated your fucking guts, best not to give them more reason to
