I would argue you have a very narrow view of political ideologies. Outside of basically a very small select MAGA group of peoples, the idea that left-wing is authoritarianism and right-wing is libertarianism is not the norm. I'll also have you note the root word liber from liberal in libertarianism. Authoritarianism is in fact conservatism. Aristotle who wrote Politics was not a liberal by a long-shot and he advocated for staunch authoritarianism seeing the State as the ultimate good.
I completely understand your belief and I'm not insulting you. I just think you need to expand your horizons a little...
Let me quote one of the founding fathers for you:
“Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations get corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.” ― Benjamin Franklin
You see, Mr. Franklin understood something you do not. When authority is wielded by good people you have a good result. When authority is welded by bad people you have a bad result. Authority is not bad in itself but rather it is the people who are either good or evil not the authority they wield. Mr. Franklin was saying that liberty is something only good people deserve because only good people would use their freedom in a good way. If you give too much freedom to evil people then evil flourishes thus in order to curtail evil you need authority over evil.
The problem with leftism is not that they want authority. The problem with leftism is that they are evil. The reason leftists are evil is because they are egalitarians in a reality that can never be this ideal. When good people want authority to combat evil that is a good thing.
Literally horseshoe theory "right wing is just left wing but different color" stupidity, straight out of public school propaganda farms. Absolutely wrong.
You can objectively classify political ideology by one scale - control. The extreme right is anarchist. Extreme left is authoritarian. No right wing movement has ever been authoritarian and no authoritarian movement has ever been right wing.
I mean, that is how you want to classify things, sure. To me there's an extreme difference between a National Socialist and a Marxism though even if you might consider them equivalent given your scale. I also think there's a huge difference between liberaltarians that are racist and sexist compared to libertarians that are egalitarian.
"National" socialists are little different from the rest of the leftists. "To me" nah. Objectively. Political scales are not a matter of opinion where any fool can call anything left or right based on their personal relative values. That is yet again leftist word twisting dogma at work.
For any reasonable discourse there must be objective measurements and consistent definitions.
Nationalism does not swing authoritarian leftists right wing. The chicoms are, and soviets were, also nationalist. The german nazis were a hard left authoritarian government. Strong centralized government power and collectivist ideologies are left wing. Nationalism is not an element tied to either wing, it is a relative cultural element that is used to strengthen a nation of any type by intelligent leaders.
You have been fed propaganda your entire life, and fed yet more to be convinced that to reject leftism you should adopt another leftist ideology - that is the goal of the propaganda campaign aimed at convincing people the krauts were right wing. That is objectively false, and it is done to deliberately muddy the waters and allow leftists to pretend that the atrocities of the 20th century weren't directly caused by their ideologies, and to create the false perception that both wings are similar - to make it seem that both can be evil on the same scale. That is why the false "horseshoe theory" doctrine is pushed, to claim extreme right somehow wraps around from people that hate government to a leftist authoritarian collectivist ideology.
It's bullshit. You've been lied to, and when you tried to rebel against the left you were duped by another of their tricks.
